Andhra Pradesh Assembly Election Result 2019 LIVE Updates: YSRCP set for landslide win, CM Chandrababu Naidu likely to resign today

JUST IN | TDP chief and Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu will address the media at 1 PM. Following that, Naidu will travel to Hyderabad to tender his resignation to the Governor of Telangana and at Raj Bhavan Somajiguda later in the evening.

YSRCP chief and potentially Andhra Pradesh's next CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is expected to brief the media soon. The party is leading in over 130 seats across the state.


JUST IN | TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is back in the lead position from his constituency Kuppam. His son Nara Lokesh is trailing by about 10,000 votes in Mangalgiri.

Meanwhile, the markets are responding positively to the early trends suggesting that NDA will retain power. Sensex has touched 40,000, while the Nifty has crossed the 12,000-mark.

YSRCP confident of victory

The YSRCP camp is reportedly already discussing finalising dates for Jagan Mohan Reddy's swearing-in as the new Andhra chief minister. Sources told News18 that the party is holding a legislature party meeting on May 25, while Jagan's swearing-in is likely to happen on May 30.
